to open water.
Stay on an island and meet your guide at the shore. We head out by boat for around eight hours, moving between islands and scanning for seals far out at sea. The search, the approach and the hunt are all part of the experience.

Accommodation packages combine four nights with one full hunting day, or two shorter outings when conditions make that the better plan. Accommodation is available on an island or on Åland’s main island.
Packages include hunting licences and insurance, agreed arrival and departure transfers, meals and soft drinks during the hunt, and instruction in skinning and preparing your seals. Meals outside the hunt are self-catering.

Stay in the heart
of the archipelago.
Måsgrund is accommodation on a private island surrounded by rocky shores and sea. Gather in the cottage after the hunt, cook together and enjoy the view from the wood-fired sauna.
Accommodation includes a shared sleeping loft with single beds. Availability, sleeping arrangements and island transfers are confirmed when we plan your trip.

Seal hunting in Åland: practical questions
Where does the seal hunt take place?
We hunt in the outer archipelago of the Åland Islands, Finland. The day is spent travelling by boat between remote islands and looking for seals in open water.
How long is a guided seal hunting day?
A full outing lasts around eight hours, including boat travel, searching for seals, hunting and an outdoor lunch. The schedule adapts to weather and wind, and the hunt may be divided into two shorter outings.
Can accommodation be included?
Yes. Cottage packages are available with four nights of accommodation and one full hunting day, or two shorter outings. Island and main-island accommodation options can be discussed when planning your trip.
What is included in the hunting package?
The package includes guiding, up to three seals per hunter, meals and soft drinks during the hunt, hunting licences and insurance, arrival and departure transfers, and instruction in skinning and preparation. Meals outside hunting hours are self-catering. Hunting success is not guaranteed.
How do I get to Åland?
Guests can arrive by ferry or via Mariehamn airport. Tell Filip your proposed arrival point and dates so transfers and accommodation can be coordinated.
Can I hire a rifle?
Rifle rental and ammunition can be arranged at an additional charge. Discuss your equipment requirements with Filip before travelling.
