Booking and cancellation terms

Updated 20 October 2026

20% in advance. 80% after guiding is completed.

Cancellation charges never exceed 50% of the total booking price.

Booking and confirmation

An enquiry is not a booking. A booking becomes binding when the customer has accepted the offer and received written booking confirmation. The confirmation specifies the organiser’s details, dates, number of participants, services, total price, extras and payment terms. The customer receives these terms before entering into the booking.

Payment

An advance payment of 20 percent of the total booking price is due within seven days of booking confirmation. The remaining 80 percent is payable after the guiding has been completed. For bookings made close to arrival, the advance payment deadline is agreed in the booking confirmation. The advance payment is credited towards the total price and is not automatically forfeited on cancellation.

Cancellation by the customer

Cancellations must be made in writing by email to archipelagopursuits@outlook.com. Cancellation charges follow the table below. Charges must be reasonable and justified. Cost savings and income from reselling the cancelled booking must be taken into account. The customer may request an explanation of the charge. Any advance payment is credited against the cancellation charge and any excess is refunded. Statutory rights to cancel without charge are unaffected.

Changes and replacement participants

Please contact us as soon as possible if dates or participant numbers need to change. We will try to find a solution subject to availability. A revised arrangement or price applies only by agreement. Replacement participants must meet the requirements for the activity. Statutory rights to transfer a package travel contract apply where relevant.

Weather and safety

The guide decides whether a trip can be operated safely. Timing, routes and the distribution of outings may be adjusted to weather and wind. If the booked activity cannot take place, we will first try to offer another suitable time during the stay. Fishing or another activity does not automatically replace a booked hunt; the customer’s agreement is required.

Cancelled guiding and accommodation packages

If we cancel a separately booked guided trip, we offer rescheduling or a refund for the cancelled guiding. For packages including accommodation, the customer’s rights are assessed for the whole package. If the customer agrees to use the accommodation despite a cancelled hunt, the accommodation charge and the refund for the hunt must be clearly agreed.

If we have to cancel

We notify the customer as soon as possible. If an agreed service cannot be provided, an agreed alternative or a refund is offered in accordance with applicable rules. The customer does not have to accept a credit or voucher instead of a refund.

Hunting and fishing results

Guiding provides a hunting or fishing experience. Sightings, catches, animals taken or a particular size cannot be guaranteed. Any number of seals stated in a package is an included limit, not a guarantee of success.

Participation and equipment

Before the trip, the customer must provide the information and documents required for the activity. Equipment, licence and physical ability requirements are communicated before booking. The guide’s safety instructions must be followed.

Insurance and complaints

We recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover and cover for the planned activities. Please report any shortcomings during your stay so that we have an opportunity to put them right. These terms do not restrict the customer’s rights under mandatory consumer protection law.
